Text Box: Saturday, 26 March, 2005. Easter was celebrated in English at Victory School this year, all in English, all by our students, all for Jesus!

For a whole month, more than 40 students who are presently learning English at our School worked hard for the successful organization of a 1-hour Easter celebration show. The most beautiful thing about organizing these kinds of events in English is that they have proved to be very fruitful in the Lord’s work. At least 4 students who participated in our Christmas show last December, are now active participants at our church services, and activities. The School staff had already prepared plays, poems, and song for our students, all in English, all about the meaning of Easter: Jesus came to die for us, and was resurrected for our justification!

With the big day approaching, the students worked even more feverishly for the preparation of the show. Some of them even came from their villages some long distance from Lushnja, only because they wanted to be part of the success and joy of the upcoming show.

Text Box: And, finally, the day came. On Saturday, 26 March, in the Victory School venues, more than 100 people came to the Easter Show, most of them parents and School students, but also people from our neighborhood. A local TV crew was present also to film part of the proceedings. They knew that we had an Easter celebration, but they had never thought that our students could tell out the story of Jesus’ sufferings and resurrection in English! Of course, it goes without saying that the parents were very happy with their children’s performance, and so were the fellow-students of those who participated in the plays, poems, and songs. But the most important thing is that many of them came to us after the show asking sincere questions about the meaning of Easter in Albanian. Praise the Lord! I guess there’s more than one way to make a non-believer get interested in the Word of God, even when we need an English show to attract their attention.

And you think this is all? Of course not. After the show, the clapping died out, and Easter day came and was soon over. But not so the interest of our students. Two students who took part in the Easter plays have expressed open interest in Jesus Christ, and have promised to join our Youth meetings at the church.

Text Box: Pray for us, brothers and sisters, that the Lord may bless the fruit of our hands as we spread his Seed in the soil of human hearts in Lushnja, especially as the Seed is mainly sown in young, fertile, adolescent hearts that may, one day, impact Lushnja and bring it under our Lord’s blessings! Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
