Mercy Street, Rythm&Blues

Victory School got the Blues this week! But it was a different kind of Blues. This beautiful music, sung at a Christian tune, reached the Victory School students for two consecutive days.

Mercy Street, a band of Christian professional musicians and singers from the English-speaking world, performed two concerts in the Victory School premises. More than 120 students showed up at each concert. They were offered the best of Blues and Rock, virtuosic musicians playing just for them, and most importantly, the message of the salvation sounded forth even clearer than their inspiring songs.

But the best part always came after the concerts. The band members came down from the stage and started talking with the students. Everyone was eager to talk to them and get their autographs! More than one person, though, got away from that meeting with Jesus’ autograph signed on their minds as they were witnessed to by the band members as well as our church members. The responses we got from the students were very encouraging.

Two more concerts were organized that weekend for people from the city. Many of our students were to be seen in these concerts, eager to translate for the band members as they shared the gospel message with others.

Next Sunday, four of these inquiring students attended our church service. The Christian teachers of Victory School are working with them and other students who were open to the gospel.
