From June 9 to 20, the “Way of Peace” Evangelical Church, Lushnja, carried out a Project for Mentally Disabled People & People with Learning Disabilities. 
This project was organized in cooperation with the Day Care Center, a team consisting of Irish believers. The project was titled “Way of Hope”.

We had prayed for more than one year to carry out this project, which aimed at helping people with mental and physical disabilities, in order to show them Christ’s love, as well as to awake in the patients and their family members the hope of change in their way of living. We did this through sessions of diverse physical exercises, rhythmic movements under the sounds of music, diverse relaxation sessions, as well as relaxing massages.

Our main purpose was to share with these special and lovely people the love of our Lord Jesus Christ and to invite them to join us in worshipping him throughout our lives.

During these two weeks, 14 volunteering believers from our church were involved in this project after a crash training course. They worked alongside the Irish team in helping the patients and in sharing each moment God’s love and the hope that can be found only in his name.

We have the privilege to notify you that, in the course of this project, we witnessed first hand God’s love in action. We witnessed a visible spiritual improvement in our patients, a thing that was exhibited in their increased self-confidence, interaction with others, efforts to follow our instructions step by step, and the desire to come back again to the sessions.

The families of the patients were also hugely impacted by this project. Experiencing our love, acceptance, care and friendliness, the parents saw how their children played with other children and some decided to seek what the source of all this blessing was. The answer to them was that, with God, nothing is impossible.
It was wonderful to hear their parents worship God and being open to follow the Way of their Hope, Jesus Christ.

The last day meeting was especially impressive. We shared the gospel with the kids and their parents and prayed to continue the project in the future by our church, probably once a month.
Praise God, this past Sunday service we had the privilege to see three parents and relatives of our patients join us in worshipping the Lord.

Please keep praying for our vision in Lushnja, that the Lord may provide a day-care center for the continuation of this project.
